On Tuesday October 7th, Stan Hunter, teacher and mentor of Team 2056, was awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Along with 9 other teachers from across Canada, Stan was presented with the award from the Prime Minister himself. Four days of activities in the Capital were topped off with receiving the award and a reception by the Speaker of the House and local MP’s. The application was submitted by Ms. J. Murray with the help of Ms. Collins-Harris, Trish Muchynski and a number of other parents and students. It was an exceptional representation of the Team and the leadership Stan provides. None of us are islands and it is an award that the entire team receives (students, mentors, parents and alumni) because of the phenomenal opportunities the team gives students to learn, grow, excel, and give back to the community.
Well Done and Thank You!
