We hope you and your families are keeping well, and despite restrictions, are finding ways to have fun and relax over the break.
Recharge Your Bot Challenge
This fall, FIRST Canada hosted The Recharge Your Bot Challenges, a series of dynamic and exciting challenges to allow FIRST Robotics Competition teams to “recharge” their energy for robotics. The results were announced on December 15 through FIRST Canada Live. Team 2056 placed first for two of the challenges.
Robot Reels: Robot Edition 2056
This video is our submission to the Robot Reels challenge. Students created a TikTok style video using our 2020 robot.
Power Cell Challenge 2056
Our second winning video is the Power Cell Challenge, which involved scoring as many power cell points as possible in 45 seconds using the same five balls, socially distanced, and 2m from the robot.
Training program
Our virtual training program continues to be a success. The program allows all new members to gain an understanding of all aspects of the FIRST program and provides our senior members an opportunity to develop and practice leadership skills. Students who complete the program requirements will earn a 2056 certificate. We are also working on developing a mentorship program for our senior students.
Team Holiday Party
On December 15, the Team 2056 Holiday Planning Committee hosted a 2056 Virtual Holiday Party to connect members and celebrate the holiday season! Between a Holiday Movie Guessing Game, 2056 Trivia Kahoot, and other group games, there were many fun experiences and prizes to be won. The holiday party was a success and prizes were delivered to the winners last week.
Wishing you a safe and healthy 2021!
